Roblox Corp. has set an ambitious new target to capture 10% of the global video-game content revenue, which currently amounts to $180 billion annually. The announcement was made by Roblox CEO and Co-Founder Dave Baszucki during the company’s developer conference on Friday.

To achieve this goal, Roblox plans to collaborate with major tech companies, including Apple Inc., Alphabet Inc., and Tencent Holdings Ltd. The platform, known for its user-generated content and widespread appeal among children, aims to leverage these partnerships to expand its market share.

In addition, Roblox unveiled a new partnership with Shopify Inc., allowing users to sell physical products through the digital Roblox experiences. The company also introduced a new program to enable creators to price paid-access experiences in real currency on desktop versions, rather than just in Robux. This change is expected to increase the revenue share for creators.

With 79 million daily active users engaging in a variety of user-created games, Roblox has become one of the most popular gaming platforms, particularly among younger audiences. Over the past year, the company distributed more than $800 million to its community of game developers.

Roblox generated $2.8 billion in sales last year. Baszucki expressed confidence that Roblox will achieve its 10% revenue goal once it reaches 300 million daily active users, and he has a long-term vision for the platform to reach 1 billion daily users.
