Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) has completed the merger of its three wholly-owned subsidiaries—Tata Consumer Soulfull Pvt Ltd, NourishCo Beverages Ltd, and Tata SmartFoodz Ltd—following approvals from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and other regulatory bodies. The merger officially took effect on September 1, 2024.
This strategic consolidation aligns with TCPL’s broader objective to simplify and streamline its operational framework. By merging these subsidiaries, TCPL aims to unlock greater efficiencies and synergies within its business structure. The move is anticipated to enhance the company’s operational effectiveness and facilitate better management of its diverse product portfolio.
Despite the merger, TCPL has assured stakeholders that the operating structure for these business units will remain unchanged. Each unit will continue to focus on its specialized product categories, including millet-based items, ready-to-drink beverages, and ready-to-cook/ready-to-eat products. These segments are identified as key growth areas for the company.
TCPL’s extensive product range includes tea, coffee, water, ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages, salt, pulses, spices, and a variety of ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat options. With a consolidated turnover of Rs 15,206 crore, the company oversees several prominent brands such as Tata Tea, Tetley, Organic India, Eight O’Clock Coffee, Tata Coffee Grand, Himalayan Natural Mineral Water, Tata Copper+, and Tata Gluco+.
The merger is part of TCPL’s ongoing efforts to streamline operations and strengthen its market position amidst a competitive landscape.
