Omid Kordestani, a former executive chairman of Twitter, now known as X under Elon Musk’s ownership, has filed a $20 million lawsuit against the social media giant. Kordestani alleges that Musk has refused to pay him for shares valued at over $20 million, which he claims were part of his compensation package.
According to the lawsuit, Kordestani’s compensation was predominantly in stock, and following Musk’s acquisition of the company in October 2022, he has yet to receive payment for these shares. The lawsuit, filed in California Superior Court in San Francisco, accuses X of benefiting from Kordestani’s seven years of service without fulfilling its financial obligations.
Musk and X have not yet commented on the lawsuit. This legal action adds to a series of disputes involving Musk’s management of the company. Earlier, former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, along with other ex-executives, sued Musk for approximately $128 million in unpaid severance. Agrawal and his colleagues had reportedly been promised severance packages exceeding $100 million, which they allege Musk has refused to honor.
