GTA 6 Trailer Surpasses Mr Beast’s YouTube Record, Becomes Most-Watched Non-Music Video in 24 Hours

GTA 6

Rockstar Games, the renowned developer behind the Grand Theft Auto series, unexpectedly dropped the highly anticipated trailer for its upcoming game, GTA 6, ahead of schedule due to a leak. Since its release, the trailer has garnered over 95 million views and is rapidly approaching the 100 million mark.

This impressive viewership has catapulted GTA 6 past the record set by popular YouTuber Mr Beast for the most-watched non-music video on the platform within the first 24 hours. The overwhelming response solidifies GTA 6’s status as one of the most eagerly awaited games in recent memory.

Acknowledging the achievement, Mr Beast took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts, stating, “The GTA 6 trailer just broke our record for most views on YouTube in 24 hours.”

The trailer and various leaks leading up to its official release have confirmed that GTA 6 will be set in Leonida, with Vice City serving as its primary backdrop. Vice City, Rockstar Games’ fictionalized version of Miami, Florida, will not be the sole focus, as glimpses from the trailer suggest that Leonida will encompass additional areas like swamps and other Florida-inspired locations.

Breaking new ground, GTA 6 introduces a female protagonist named Lucia, marking the first time in the series’ history. Lucia is joined by another protagonist, Jason, who is romantically linked to her. Some have drawn parallels between the duo and the infamous Bonnie and Clyde.

Notably, the game is exclusively set to release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, skipping the previous console generation. While a PC version has not been officially announced, Rockstar’s history suggests that it may follow suit a year or two later, maintaining the tradition of staggered releases.
