On Monday, TCS, India’s largest IT services exporter, unveiled a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to introduce a specialized generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) practice. The Tata Group company recently announced that it has provided foundational training on GenAI to 100,000 employees worldwide.

The newly established practice is set to leverage responsible AI frameworks and TCS’s “Paceport innovation hubs” to develop a comprehensive portfolio of solutions and services tailored to various industry sectors, according to an official statement. TCS has already secured its first client for the GenAI practice, with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company, extending its strategic partnership with TCS and AWS to oversee its digital transformation journey.

Generative AI has garnered global attention for its potential to significantly reshape industries, and TCS has been actively engaged in GenAI initiatives with its clients. Presently, TCS is working towards certifying over 25,000 employees on AWS generative AI services.

The company’s approach involves its consultants aiding clients in identifying impactful use cases within their business context, fostering collaborative experimentation, and co-innovating generative AI-powered solutions. Krishna Mohan, Deputy Head of TCS AI Cloud unit, emphasized the importance of adopting a holistic approach across multiple dimensions, including creativity, productivity, and business value, to ensure the effective and trustworthy deployment of generative AI technology.
