The upgrade of the Home app was launched on December 13 with iOS 16.2 and macOS Ventura 13.1. The main content is to rewrite the HomeKit architecture to make the platform “more reliable and efficient.” However, users who upgraded soon discovered a variety of problems, including certain Siri keywords not working, or smart home devices not appearing in the Home app.

An Apple spokesperson told The Verge that the company has discovered a bug that would prevent users from sharing smart home devices in the Home app. In the process of fixing the bug, the option to upgrade to the new Home architecture will be temporarily removed, and users who have already upgraded will not be affected.
